How are warranties attached to assets?

Each asset supports multiple linked warranties — manufacturer, extended, or service contract — with provider contact, policy number, cost, and expiry date. Claims can be filed directly from the asset record.

What happens when a warranty claim is approved?

Approved warranty claims automatically link to a work order of type 'warranty repair' so the fix is tracked through the normal work order lifecycle with cost tracking and completion evidence.

Can we file claims against expired warranties when justified?

Yes. Claims can be submitted against expired warranties with mandatory justification — useful for early failures just outside the coverage window.
